What is a Windshield Requirements ticket?
CVC 26700(a) requires all motor vehicles operated on a highway to be equipped with a windshield. The windshield must be properly installed and functional. A violation typically means the windshield is missing or so severely damaged that it no longer serves its protective function.
A missing windshield is a safety hazard. This is typically a correctable fix-it ticket with no DMV points. However, driving without a windshield exposes you to significant physical danger — correction should be immediate.
No DMV points — no insurance impact.
