Cookie Policy

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site function properly and provide information to the site operator. ticketclear.ai uses both session cookies (which expire when you close your browser) and persistent cookies (which remain until they expire or you delete them).

These cookies are required for the platform to function. They handle authentication (keeping you logged in), session management, and security. You cannot disable these without breaking core platform functionality. Specifically, Supabase authentication session cookies maintain your login state across pages and protect against unauthorized access.

If you start a ticket without an account, the same cookies hold a temporary guest session until you create your account. If you choose “I already have an account”, a cookie named tc_guest_claim holds a signed guest ID for up to 30 minutes so we can move your ticket into your account; then it is deleted.

We use Vercel Analytics to understand how visitors use the platform. Vercel Analytics collects anonymized data about page views and navigation patterns without storing personally identifiable information. Analytics data is processed by Vercel and governed by their privacy policy. You may opt out of analytics cookies through your browser settings.

We also run our own site analytics, kept in our own database (see our Privacy Policy). It sets two first-party cookies: tc_vid, a random visitor ID that lasts up to 13 months, and tc_sid, a random visit ID that expires after 30 minutes without activity. They contain nothing about you, only our servers can read them (not the scripts on our pages), and they are never shared. You can remove them by clearing your browser’s cookies for ticketclear.ai.

We also keep our own record of which steps of the process signed-in customers reach (see our Privacy Policy); it uses no cookies. If our ticket page or one of our ad pages sends you to sign in or create an account, your browser keeps a random visit ID in local storage for up to 24 hours so we can tell whether you come back, and we send it with what happens in the box that starts a ticket (for example, ticking the Terms box or the security check asking you to click) so we can find problems there. It contains nothing about you and is deleted once you return signed in. The same box also appears on our speeding ticket calculator pages, and the same applies there.

If you start a ticket without an account and seem to be leaving, we may offer once to save your progress. Your browser then keeps a note named tc_leave_prompt in local storage (its value is simply "1") so the offer is not shown again. It contains nothing about you or your ticket, and it stays until you clear your browser’s site data.

After you scan your ticket without an account, we may offer email reminders. If you close that offer or give us an address there, your browser keeps a note named tc_reminder_ask_dismissed in local storage (its value is simply "1") so the offer is not shown again. It contains nothing about you or your ticket, and it stays until you clear your browser’s site data.

When you open your camera or photo picker to scan your ticket, your browser keeps a note named tc_photo_picker_open in session storage (only which step you were at, the time, and when the page loaded), so that if your phone reloads the page before your photo is sent, we can tell you the photo didn’t come through. It is removed as soon as your photo is sent or you come back to the page. A second note, tc_photo_lost_count, counts lost photos during that visit and when the last one happened. Both are deleted when you close the tab.

When you make a purchase, Stripe (our payment processor) may set cookies necessary for secure payment processing and fraud prevention. These cookies are managed by Stripe and governed by their privacy policy.

If you reach ticketclear.ai by clicking one of our Google ads, we set our own cookie named tc_click. It holds the click ID Google adds to the link, the ad’s campaign tags, the page you landed on and the time, and it expires after 90 days. If you start a ticket while it is set, we copy that information onto your ticket, and if you then buy, we tell Google Ads about the purchase as described in section 3 of our Privacy Policy.

We do not set it when your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, or after you turn off ad measurement on our Your Privacy Choices page. Turning it off deletes tc_click and sets a cookie named tc_ads_optout that remembers your choice in that browser for one year.

TicketClear does not use Google’s advertising tag, retargeting pixels, behavioral tracking cookies, or any third party advertising cookies. The only advertising-related cookie we set is our own Google ad-click cookie (section 2.4). We do not display advertising on our website, and we do not sell data collected through cookies.

Our emails work differently: they contain a small image and tracked links, so our email provider (Resend) tells us whether each email was delivered, whether it was opened and whether a link in it was clicked. This is not a cookie and is not used for advertising. See section 1 of our Privacy Policy.

Some cookies or local-storage data are placed by third party services that operate on our platform: Vercel Analytics (anonymized page view and navigation analytics — no cookies, uses anonymous signals only), Stripe (secure payment processing, only active during checkout), Supabase (authentication and session management), and Vercel (hosting platform performance and security). Each third party service processes only the minimum data necessary for its function and is governed by its own privacy and cookie policies.

You have the right to accept or reject cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings: Chrome via Settings, then Privacy and security, then Cookies and other site data; Firefox via Options, then Privacy and Security, then Cookies and Site Data; Safari via Preferences, then Privacy, then Cookies and website data; and Edge via Settings, then Privacy, search, and services, then Cookies and site permissions. If you choose to decline cookies, some features of ticketclear.ai may not function properly, particularly login and payment processing.

To stop the Google ad-click cookie and Google Ads purchase measurement without turning off other cookies, use the Turn off ad measurement button on our Your Privacy Choices page, or turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser, which we honor automatically.

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in our practices or for operational or legal reasons. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when changes are made.
