Contesting an officer-written ticket by mail usually has three costs. Only one of them is ours.

Speed camera notices (San Francisco and Oakland today) follow the issuing agency’s own process. Your instructions explain what that agency asks for.
Contesting is not risk-free. If the judge finds you guilty, you have the same conviction and the same DMV points as if you had paid, and your bail deposit is applied to the fine, but the judge can set a fine higher or lower than the bail. Going to trial does not make you ineligible for traffic school, but after a guilty finding it is up to the judge.

No asterisks. This is how paying for TicketClear works.

We check before you pay
We check each ticket before you pay for it or use a Driver Pack credit on it. If it doesn’t qualify or its deadline has passed, we tell you and you pay nothing for it. The Driver Pack itself is bought up front.

Payments are one-time
No subscription and no auto-renewal. Driver Pack credits never expire, and each works on an officer-written or camera ticket.

Refunds when we get it wrong
Charged twice, hit by a technical error, or charged for a ticket our screening should have caught? You get a full refund. The court’s decision is not grounds for a refund.

You mail it yourself
We don’t mail anything or file for you. You print the packet and mail it to the court, following your court’s bail instructions.

Documents, not legal advice
TicketClear is a document preparation service, not a law firm. DUI, hit-and-run, reckless driving and other criminal charges are outside what we prepare. For those, talk to a licensed traffic attorney.
Yes. Checking your ticket and answering the questions cost nothing. For officer-written tickets you also see a preview of your declaration. For a single ticket, you pay only at checkout, when you are ready to sign and download your packet. The Driver Pack is the exception: it is bought up front.
No. Every price is a one-time payment. There is no subscription and nothing renews automatically.
No. The bail deposit is paid to the court, not to TicketClear, and the court decides what happens to it. If the court finds you not guilty, it refunds the deposit. TicketClear’s fee covers preparing your documents.
No. You download your packet and mail it yourself. We include your court’s mailing address and step-by-step instructions. We recommend certified mail with a return receipt.
The Driver Pack is $89.99, paid up front, for two Declaration Packet credits. At checkout, use one credit for each eligible ticket, officer-written or camera. Credits never expire, and nothing renews.
We check eligibility before you pay or use a Driver Pack credit. If your ticket does not qualify, we tell you, you are not charged for it and your credit is not used. If our screening misses it after you have paid or used a credit, we refund your payment or give your credit back.
By credit or debit card at checkout. Payments are processed securely by Stripe. TicketClear never sees or stores your full card number.
You can cancel for a full refund any time before your document is generated. After that, your packet has been built for your specific ticket, so the fee is not refunded because you changed your mind or because of the court’s decision. We also give a full refund for technical errors, duplicate charges, incorrect court information caused by our system, or an ineligible ticket our screening missed.
